About Me
I achieved my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and my Post- Graduate Level 6 Diploma in Trauma Counselling from Willows Counselling and Training Centre in Swindon, and my private counselling practice is now based in the area.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such I am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Code of Ethics). You can take a look at this here.
I work with individuals over 18 covering a range of issues and common life problems. You may know exactly what your issue is, or you may need a few sessions to get to the heart of it, either way is fine with me – there is no right way to do therapy! My intention will always be to do right by you, and therefore I will not waste your time if I feel you may benefit from seeing a differently skilled professional.
My Approach
My philosophy towards counselling is based in the belief that every person is intrinsically drawn towards positive growth and self-development, and as such, every person should have the right to seek out this potential. Unfortunately, this process can sometimes be interrupted or discouraged, or impacted by developmental trauma, which can create feelings of inadequacy and low self-worth (among many others) and it is in the exploration of these feelings that the true self is revealed, and real change can be achieved.
I am a fully trained integrative trauma counsellor, which means I can draw on different psycho-therapeutic theories and counselling models depending on your needs and requirements. My approach is person-centred, somatic and holistic in nature, which means the therapy will be led by you, underwritten by a foundation of trust, empathy, and non-judgement. Between us, we will explore how your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual parts integrate within you, and together we will begin to navigate your path to healing.
